Giving Thanks to the Chaos! (November 18th - November 24th)
What is up, my friends!
Thanksgiving reminds many of us of how fortunate we may be, whether you celebrate it or not, it’s nice to show appreciation by giving thanks.
On behalf of the community, we would like to give a big “Thank You!” to Jay Chrawnna for his leadership and vision starting WagMedia (WM). Time has certainly flown by, as it’s been nearly a year since he started dropping hidden invites on his YouTube channel.
We’d like to thank Polkahaus as well. Not only did they help build and bridge the DotSama community, but they were the very first treasury that funded bounties on WM. The lure of a mysterious emoji that signified an award under your post got things going with our finders and creators.
Encouraged by the results, other early treasuries came on board which brought in consistent creators such as @pitcoin, @pnp, @TheFVK, and @Crane.
Many thanks to Subsocial, RMRK, Astar, and JAM. Their logos have a historic place on our discord banner for their early participation.
We’d like to thank the rest of the treasuries that have joined us and made their bounties enjoyable with creative and experimental models.
Rainbow drop (Bifrost), Github translation (Solarbeam), Crust NFT (Crust), New projects (Scytale), $Poop (Exosama Network), Illumination (Moonbeam), NFT artists (KodaDot), and KMA staking (Calamari) are just some of the campaigns that have encouraged new creators to join in.
To all of our WM directors, many thanks for taking on the responsibility of growing your channel. You have helped create an environment for waggers to work and develop themselves for the good of our ecosystem.
Additional thanks go to WM director @Ikhaled; he continues to make all of us look good by promoting our top posts on the WM twitter. The subsequent likes and follows from new audiences are gratifying.
The marketing team deserves our thanks for providing some invaluable guidance on how we can enhance our own brand.
To Boost and 0xTaylor from our code development team, your work in making WM easy to use does not go unnoticed. Thank you.
There are many more behind the scenes, as well as a continuously growing list of people to thank.
But most important is to give thanks to all of our waggers who tirelessly support and push WM forward with daily content.
TOP NEWS OF THE WEEK
Market conditions aside, there’s still plenty to be thankful for in the Polkadot and Kusama ecosystems. Several teams have stood apart based on this past week.
Evrloot has excelled as one of the leading NFT projects in DotSama since its inception earlier this year. Here’s their nine-month recap, which captures their key highlights and illustrates how they have captivated the ecosystem’s community.
At the time, WagMedia (WM) discord was intrigued February 20th when @Dodow posted this find, here. In turn, @pnin (our resident NFT degen) responded with “interesting” and @seppy (an early WM creator) recommended members to act fast on the discord invite as he appeared to have the inside track.
Little did we realize how profound this project was going to be in Dotsama. @seppy has joined the team whilst–let's just say–@pnin more than casually participates. We’d like to thank Evrloot for the joy they bring. They have created a fun gaming experience, and we’ll look forward to the many exciting things they have planned yet.
Bifrost continues to be a fantastic treasury, covered in the previous weekly here. They have led the way in DeFi within our ecosystem through innovative mechanisms such as liquid crowdloans via SALP, something they started in 2021.
They have taken this even further with liquid staking, now offering vMOVR and vGLMR.
Their collaboration between Moonbeam demonstrates the power of XCM, as well as lowers the barriers of entry for newbies looking to stake.
The first Kusama referendum was submitted on OpenGov, signifying Governance V2 being put into practice.
We’d like to thank the council and technical committee for their hard work in making our ecosystem the best amongst all the major networks concerning Governance.
Further thanks go to WM treasuries Astar and Moonbeam, leading the general-purpose L1 revolution on Polkadot.
As mentioned in last week's weekly, Astar is helping with Web3 adoption in Japan, and has now reached a milestone of six million transfers on its chain.
Moonbeam continues to bring in prominent blockchain names such as Sushiswap, Lido, Curve, Beefy, and Axelar. They have also recently onboarded Unstoppable Domains and Layer Zero, too.
We’d like to thank Donnie and the Exosama Network team for the rapid building and plenty of attention and buzz. Who’d thought all this building would happen when it all started with an experimental NFT collection on Moonriver?
Moonsama has arguably become the first Dotsama bluechip NFT, with an exhilarating gaming experience and juicy rewards from in-game resources.
The team continues to successfully ship with Gromlins, Pondsama, Raresama, Exosama, and is now enabling multiverse resources between Moonsama and Exosama. Additionally, in WM, associated bounties are as popular as ever. This past week alone, the $POOP bounty 5 generated over a dozen entries.
The InvArch team deserves our thanks for pushing the boundaries and showcasing new refreshing use cases. GitArch has gained the attention of developers both inside and outside of Dotsama. Daoist CDK looks primed to enhance DAOs and make them truly decentralized, and INV4 is set to address Web3 intellectual property - here’s the latest article with more insight on it.
Many thanks to the brilliant support provided by the Web3 Foundation and Parity. We are already witnessing their exciting roadmap, covered in a previous weekly, taking shape.
To borrow some wise words from our chief architect, we have Kusama for experimental “crazy stuff” whilst Polkadot will be the platform for “large swathes of the population”.
Last but by no means least, we’d like to thank all the token holders. Not only did they see the potential in WagMedia for community-generated content, but also for being early believers of Polkadot and the Web3 vision.
Now, on to the usual flurry of news and content.
