**Robonomics Vision**

Robot-as-a-Service is the central thesis to what Airalab is achieving with the Robonomics platform, since 2015. The exchange of information and services between humans and machines is achieved through blockchain technology. Robonomics is building a Web3 world where humans pay robots to perform tasks and log important information.

The team uses Robot Operating System (ROS), which promotes groups to build and collaborate on each other's work. Further, there is collaboration between machines and humans through economic incentives. The token that powers these paid transactions is XRT.

More info about XRT’s tokenomics can be found on the official website – https://robonomics.network/. The main point is that robots perform tasks as users make transactions with XRT on the Dotsama blockchain. Through this transaction robots are paid to work - creating a unique human-robot economy.

**Ivan and Eisenkoch Make Waffles**

bLd v7.59 was fortunate to meet with Ivan, CEO of Multi-Agent System s - a laboratory that studies the issue of cybernetics and economics theory in human-machine systems. This team works closely with Robonomics to build robots that help day-to-day in the Internet of Things. Ivan introduces us to their creation – Eisenkoch, a robot that can make waffles. Mmmmmm!

He explains, “This robot can make different foods. If you want {to make} waffles you can buy Eisenkoch, waffle grill and start a waffle program {or company}.” That’s right! Eventually, a business owner can contact Robonomics, and partnered companies, to order a custom program and robot that will cook for them.

“If you want one that makes different food… potatoes or whatever. Then we make the development to create the technologies. We say, ‘Okay! We {just} need some money to create this robot and program. And {then} you can get this robot.” The robot can then be rented by the owner. I further discuss the Smart Leasing program at Robonomics with Leemo, which I share below.

Today, there are few, if any, opportunities to lease robot technology like Eisenkoch. Ivan explains how they look to solve this, “We want {our} company all over the world where we can openly sell robotics… {Often today} you have different problems buying robotics. Why!? Usually, big companies or small teams create one or two robotics in specialty places or companies and don’t want to sell these technologies to different people.”

This is absolutely true in many factories. I have witnessed barricades and actual guards preventing factory workers and guests from even catching a glimpse of what robots are being built. These sections often communicate over closed networks to prevent the cutting-edge technology from being shared.

**Digital Twins**

Creating a digital identity for the robot is the mechanism that creates an environment for the human-robot economy. Interaction with this identity is achieved by connecting owners to the Robot Operating System (ROS) through the Kusama parachain. It’s like a digital passport where you can see all the changes in the machine. “We put this information on IPFS with a hash function. And we cite {this} hash function {on} Robonomics network with a special address. We see this hash on Robonomics network and IPFS. And you can see changes, or no changes, on this digital passport.” This real-time digital counterpart to Eisenkoch is the digital twin - where a robot has both a virtual and material identity.

So, to recap, activity and status is logged onto the blockchain through transactions. Specifically, the data is stored on the IPFS decentralised file system.The IPFS address to this data is then written into the blockchain, where the business owner/Robonomics can view it. This is much like the minting process of many NFTs.

**DotSama and the Interoperable Future**

Leemo, a quality assurance engineer at Robonomics, explains to me why Robonomics chose the Kusama relay chain.

“A lot of it is to do with Kusama's scalability and flexibility. We are our own layer 1 blockchain (customizable), and we don't need to focus too much on the security aspect, since that is handled a lot by Kusama's relay chain... Also, since we are a parachain, we are able to push our parachain block candidates to the Kusama relay chain without paying for it (the parachain auction was technically our payment).”

Ethereum has suited Robonomics engagement with large company leasing, such as the successful deployment of Mitsubishi Electric Manipulator. But the cost-saving associated with Kusama is fit to facilitate mass adoption.

“We can allow SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises)/individual consumers to connect to our chain with very minimal costs… Additionally, para-relay chains… interoperability also… is something we are looking into.”

I asked Leemo where he thinks we are heading with this new human-robot interaction.

“It's something which one of our partner companies, MerkleBot, run by Vitaly Bulatov, is currently working on. They are basically renting out robots, such as electric manipulators to SMEs, which in turn can pay in multiple ways; pay per action (possible via parachain as each action is logged); pay per hour; per per day; per week; per month, etc.

“Vitaly {also} sees big growth even in the past few years with Robotics in manufacturing and packing industries in the US. The market is maturing a lot, {though} it may take some time for it to mature outside of certain countries.”

For me, I still have many questions: What kind of metaverse are we building on DotSama? One day will we have a digital twin on the blockchain? What new other jobs will spur from the human-robot economy? How will this integrate into life? Privacy and ownership? Needless to say I’m excited to see what Robonomics has down the pipeline.

What’s Cooking at Robonomics?

*Astar Degens can bring to life a shared view of all ideas. Anyone can help without fear of failure.

**Astar Network**

Astar Network is just starting to come online with new projects and incentives for early adopters. Bridges to Polygon, BSC and Ethereum are already possible through Celer and Anyswap. Soon, Astar promises to bridge directly to Cosmos with their partner company Octopus Network. But recently a new project Astar Degen has captured the attention of the +800 members of the Astar community, including myself. Actually, many of the Astar Network core team, including Sota, Maarten and Mario, have become Degens themselves. The influx of members and interest is creating a busy community of new ideas and growing partnerships that have kept the founder VD_546 quite busy.

**Astar Degen Beginnings**

VD started following Astar Network in 2019, when the protocol was called Plasm and focused on plasma scaling solutions for blockchain. This vision changed to a more mature Polkadot parachain with a new focus on dApp staking solutions and an EVM/WASM compatible network. VD has followed Sota’s vision and felt ‘inspired by Sota’s focus to assist startups and individuals.’

VD sees the launch of Astar Network as ‘his chance to do what he’s been planning for years.’ That is, create a DAO created by the community to support community ideas. Astar Degen is looking to grow organically - beginning with developing a Vision Statement of the community. This ground up approach does look messy, but VD looks to avoid issues he’s seen in other DAOs:

“Our DAO should support the community to implement ideas without fear of failure.

The DAO should help builders, creators by making their Ideas economically viable

Not every builder would have a clear vision in terms of economic viability. Our DAO should help bring in that element”

Further, Astar Degen should reward community contributors that participate in the initial development. This is not always the case. VD says, “I have seen this often and feel sad.. our community should feel proud and honoured to be here.”

The official Vision Statement is being discussed in the discord group and will begin voting on the most popular ideas by the end of the week.

**What’s in the Pipeline**

Astar Degens is working on creating new NFT art to mint and build a treasury. There will be a limit of 2-5 NTF degen and each will initially cost less than $100 to mint. A low entry fee and limited number of initial mints prevents whale ownership, thereby attracting community-driven Degens. A website is also in the works.

In addition to building a treasury through NFT minting, the project is applying to become a dApp staking project on Astar Portal. Stakers will be able to support Astar Degen while earning native ASTR. How exactly this treasury will be distributed back to the degens and startups will be voted on soon.

Two AMAs are already scheduled. The first will happen Feb 3, and is open to the Degen community only. Next week, Feb 7, another AMA will be led by the ASTAR team, with the intent for

Astar Degen - An Ape's Vision

*When I was first learning about Moonriver, I spent a fair amount of time listening to the song Moonriver by Audrey Hepburn. In that song, there is a lyric where she says "Huckleberry friend." This is where our name came from. Then, when building out our "lore," we naturally started pulling from the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn as there's a bit more to pull from than just the Audrey Hepburn song!* Finn, Founder of Huckleberry Finance

Huckleberry was 100% fair launched (no pre-sales, or private sales) in October 2021. "*The core team is a small group of industry veterans, who pull from their network to contribute to Huckleberry on an as-needed basis. In any given month, more than 15 developers contribute in some way to the project*." Since launch the Huckleberry community have delivered a full suite of defi products for Moonriver: lending/borrowing, LP farming, staking and a new community oriented strategy *passive sailin’*.

I overview what Huckleberry offers to defi users on Moonriver. And Finn, the founder of Huckleberry, provides insight on how Huckleberry works and defines the Moonriver community.

We partnered with several of the good, smaller projects (like 1swap, Moonbeans), and some of the bigger ones (like Beefy). PASSIVE SAILIN’ with FINN

Passive sailin’ is the key earning strategy offered to $FINN holders - **drifters**. All drifters earn 0.5% of all FINN transactions. You do nothing but hold FINN and earn rewards -  “*It’s like a never-ending stream of micro-airdrops*.”  Simply holding FINN and earning transaction fees is a passive way any defi user can support Huckleberry.

ADVENTURES

Adventures is made of three products for drifters to earn more rewards.

1. Tom’s House (staking FINN)
2. Excursions (syrup pools/launchpad)
3. Rivers (LP Farming)

The first involves staking your FINN at Tom’s House - for this you recieve TOM. TOM is a pool of FINN that *“always increases in value as it receives a portion of our DEX fees and 100% of our lending platform fees*.” Again, this is an easy way for the Moonriver community to passively earn rewards without risk of impermanent loss.

TOM can further be used in staked Excursions (aka syrup pools) to earn additional FINN or a variety of tokens at a high APY.

Rivers is potentially the most interesting strategy to the Moonriver community. Simply, it is LP farming to earn additional FINN. What makes rivers important is the focus on *multichain*. If you hold a variety of tokens in your portfolio you can bridge them to Moonriver through Huckleberry’s partner - Wanchain. Once bridged you can provide cross-chain liquidity to earn yield on your hodl portfolio. At the time of writing, you can earn FINN with AVAX, XRP or FTM. Huckleberry is centre to bringing liquidity from other chains to Dotsama through these unique farming pairs.

Now, in case you're unfamiliar with earning through farms (called rivers on Huckleberry), I’ll provide an example.

For instance, providing liquidity and staking the USDT-MOVR pair currently yields the FINN token at an APR of 49%.

Partnerships with Beefy and Pickle enable you to autocompound these rewards. With Beefy, your USDT-MOVR will accrue at 110% in USDT and MOVR. So, to recap:

1. Deposit LP to USDT-MOVR pool
* A. Deposit with Huckleberry Rivers to earn 49% in FINN ***or***
* B. Deposit on Beefy to earn 110% in USDT and MOVR

THATCHER’S RESERVOIR

Thatcher’s reservoir is the lending platform of Huckleberry. It's built on the battle-tested Compound and Banker Joe protocols, rather than building a new protocol. This is a common strategy used by many reputable protocols, such as CREAM finance. I am happy to see Thatcher’s Reservoir was recently audited, showing us that the team is taking steps to ensure safety.

Users can lend and borrow a variety of tokens to long/short positions. Or, borrowed assets can be used throughout the Moonriver ecosystem. Thatcher's Reservoir brings necessary defi strategies to Moonriver. Again, for new users I will provide an example of how this could be used on Huckleberry.

For example, you can deposit 3 MOVR in Thatcher’s Reservoir to earn 7% APR. An option would be to borrow $100 USDC to provide liquidity and farm in the USDC stable pair, or Mana River, earning a net of ~35% APR (this takes into consideration current borrowing costs). **So, to recap with only 3 MOVR, this strategy will earn the following: 7% on 3 MOVR plus ~35% on $100 USDC**. Just be aware that you take on additional risk and ensure you do not over-borrow.

This is only an example to demonstrate the defi opportunities Huckleberry currently offers to the Moonriver community, not financial advice.

TOKENOMICS

The token distribution is broken down below::
* Farmers — 80%
* Team — 10%
* Marketing & operations — 4%
* Treasury/Insurance — 3%
* Initial Airdrop to MOVR holders and early adopters — 3%

The team initially worked on a volunteer basis, to avoid conflicting motivations and incentivise the community to take a chance at building Huckleberry. They are open about putting 10% aside for the team. Again, no token sales or equity offerings - looking for organic growth from the community.

A total of 100 000 000 FINN are distributed linearly over 4 years. An emissions of 25m $FINN a year gives a current inflation rate of ~260%. This high inflation allows early users to take part in the many airdrops and incentive programs to build a stack of FINN. In 4 years, $FINN will have 0% inflation - becoming a store of value and governance token.

Any FINN/TOM holder can propose a “Regular Proposal” which the community can vote on. These proposals encourage the community to engage and share ideas. If the proposal gains enough traction, then Finn and the Huckleberry team will post it as a Core Proposal. Yes/No proposals require a majority and 25% of eligible voters in order to pass. Poll type proposals will pass with the option that has the most community votes.

FINAL TOUGHTS

I may have put one too many photos in this article, but I couldnt help it. I had to share how the team has woven Huckleberry Finn lore into a defi platform through art, place-names, and language.

Huckleberry is doing a lot of things right. I an impressed how quickly they deliver defi products. The protocol has a clear, easy-to-use interface. I think this has to do with the core team having previous blockchain experience. “*Everyone who works on Huckleberry does so on a part-time basis, as we are all employed in established mid-to-large blockchain companies.*”

Further, they have made valuable partnerships with established projects: Beefy, Pickle, and Moonriver. Finn and the team are active in their social media channels and help the community. They are bringing their experience to build something new for Moonriver.

Adventures of Huckleberry Finance

The AMA was hosted by the ArthSwap team, Maggie and Megan. Astar Degen team, VD and Dr. Preposterous, were invited to the AMA.

The format starts with ArthSwap and Astar Degens introducing themselves. Next, each team answeres 3 pre-selected questions. The AMA closes by opening the floor to community questions and comments.

**Maggie** (from Arthswap):

Introducing Arthswap is 1-stop shop defi protocol of Astar. We offer up to 400% APY on select assets. There is a bridge function built into Arthswap, making transferring assets like BNB easy. Currently with C-bridge only. Team is currently working on staking and lending products. Also, there are many language channels in our discord so all can participate.

**VD** (from Astar Degens):

Astar Degens started as an NFT collection. I’ve been lucky enough to be involved with many NFT projects, but came across the issue of community members not being rewarded after NFT minting. So, Astar Degen NFT collection will have utility - it makes holders co-owners of the project - becoming a part of the DAO and direct treasury.
	
70% of NFT minting fees go back to DAO treasury. The DAO treasury is used to support partners like Arthswap or other Astar projects. It “gives the boost that new projects need.”
	
Also, we support new ideas of the community. You bring your ideas to the DAO. And then the DAO will vote whether to support - a “collective decision.”
	
And, rewarding contributors is also important, just like Arthswap is currently rewarding AMA notetakers.
The core ideas of Astar Degens are:
* Give back to the community.
* Become a strong part of the Astar and Polkadot ecosystem.

Dr. Preposterous and Mario are part of the core team. Dr. Preposterous has been key to engaging the community to develop a Mission Statement and Vision Statement. Matio, who is responsible for bringing us Shiden Monsters, is developing Astar Degens NFT minting.

The DAO fund initially is built through NFT minting.

**Dr. Preposterous**(from Astar Degens):

The DAO is initially being bootstrapped via minting. To give us a treasury to work with and develop ideas. We encourage you to come and participate in the development of Astar Degen on Discord. Our tribes create ideas, like the Vision Statement and Art, and bring it forward to the DAO to be voted.

We are incubators - a dynamic beast that is growing and morphing. It is important we encourage two things:
Fearless participation. Make sure to bring up any idea you have.
Reward active participation.

Astar Degens really provides the conduit for little fish to bring forth their big ideas.

Currently, we are interested in ideas to maximise treasury’s impact.


**VD**:

I just want to bring up that no specific form are needed. Just hop on and share ideas. It is really an “informal community based VC.”

**Maggie**:

Also, it's important to note that Astar Degens and Arthswap will work together in future and co-operate. Stay tuned for exciting news about this future.

PRE-SELECETED COMMUNITY QUESTIONS

Question 1: *To incubate projects we need to have funds. How will Astar Degens set up funds*?

**Dr. Preposterous**: 

Minting will generate initial capital and it will be locked in a DAO wallet. Then we will look to have 1.) dApp staking and 2.) NFT staking. In fact, community members have already applied for dApp staking. But we want all new ideas. We don’t want VD, Mario, and me sitting at the top. We want the community to come up with new ways to generate funds. Also, the funding needs to be sustainable and safe. VD, do you have anything to add?

**VD**:

It's important to know we are like a grassroots project just nudging an idea. Our goal is to connect founders and creators to the right people in Astar ecosystem.

**Dr. Preposterous**:

To percolate ideas via community and reach out to leaders and teams in other communities. Already, we can see some community members are connecting us to other projects and media outlets to do AMAs. Like Arthswap or Wagmedia.

Question 2: *What is staking going live and will there be NFT staking*?

**VD**:

We’ve had a heated debate on discord because Astar Degens has the core value of supporting community. The idea is to invest in promising projects and use a portion of these to reward the community. Please, keep an eye for an announcement on this.

Question 3: *What are some future projects or partnerships*?

**VD**:

We can’t give too much away because we are still in idea phase. But we don’t want to limit Astar Degens to Astar alone. We want to give to the entire Polkadot ecosystem. All I can say is we want to reward everybody in the Polkadot ecosystem. Maybe a game or something like that.

**Dr. Preposterous**:

We are currently focusing on having AMAs and crating a network effect in Dotsama. We already enjoy a good partnership with Arthswap. It’s great.

A focus right now is on infrastructure ideas. How to create governance? How to have good governance that is safe with the community. The community should feel safe when they financially and emotionally invest with Astar Degen. We don't want to put the cart before the horse here.

Question 4: *What maes ArthSwap different from other defi protocols*?

**Maggie**:

Arthswap is largest Dex on Asta, and Astar is one of the largest projects on Polkadot. Astar is also backed by Dr. Gavin Wood. Also, we offer and attractive and high APY for supporting ArthSwap. Paid in Arth token.

Question 5: *What are the #1 goals of ArthSwap*?

**Maggie**:

Primarily, we want to expand our TVL and increase our APY. We currently have 50 million in TVL, and want to become #1 defi protocol. Again, we are at the centre of Astar, which is one of the largest projects in the Polkadot ecosystem.

Question 6: *What are the new and future strategies of ArthSwap*?

**Maggie**:

As our defi platform grows our APR will mature. Which means we are looking to develop various uses for Arth token. Currently we have 2 strategies:
* Building a staking feature for ARTH token on ArthSwap.
* Our *Ideal Platform*. The Ideal Platform will list promising projects like starlay.

With these strategies our token will grow in value.

**VD**:

I promised the community some alpha during this AMA, and I want to share it. We have had a challenge with the DAO wallet and want use the multisig feature that is coming to Astar. However, currently we can only have 1 signature for the wallet.

So, we have approached Sota Watanabe have the keys to the wallet, and he accepted. Sota will guard the wallet keys of Astar Degen. Not the team members. And it will be public.

Because Sota has come forward to help us out, I hope everybody is reassured that:
* The funds of the treasury are safe
* Have faith in the project that is supported by Astar team

**Dr. Preposterous**:

It’s important to realise the core group has been grinding to make these possible, but we still want to encourage all community to come and participate.

OPEN FLOOR QUESTIONS

Question 7: *Are the team members on Astar, ArthSwap and Astar Degens different*?

**Maggie**:

I want to say that both Astar Degens and ArthSwap are spun up from the Astar ecosystem. Specifically, ArthSwap is a part of the Astar builder’s program. You have anything VD?

**VD**:

Yes. I have been participating with Astar since it was known as Plasm. I always had the idea to make an NFT collection, but didn’t want to go the wrong way. There are a lot of scams out there. When I saw Shiden Monsters I had the idea to follow through with the idea on Astar.

I know Mamora from being involved with Astar, and he is a good friend. He liked my idea and helped me approach the Astar team.

And Mario helps with building smart contracts and building the site, which will be released soon.

Even though we are a part of Astar I want to say that the DAO is for the community.

Question 7: *Will each one of the NFTs be unique*?

**VD**:

Yes. They will be unique and randomly generated with traits. We have shared what some of these traits are to the community. None of the 10 000 NTFs will be the same. I want the community to have something unique. Similar traits, but unique.

Question 8: *I am excited to see community participation. Let’s keep going. I have a suggestion. I think it would be worthwhile to make weekly reports so everyone could stay up-to-date and participate*.

**Dr. Preposterous**:

This is a good idea. It will help the community make informed decisions about the DAO.

Question 9: *What is the TVL goal of ArthSwap*?

**Maggie**:

10 billion in TVL. We want to be number one, comparable to Uniswap, Benqi or Trader Joe. Currently, we are at 50 million in TVL.

Question 10: *Will there be an NFT burn for Astar Degens*?

**VD**:

I don’t foresee this being a problem. I believe they will all be minted. But in case it is a problem, which is unlikely, there will be a surprise for all NFT holders.

Question 11: *What coin will we need to mint NFTs*?

**VD**:

You will need Astar token on Metamask wallet.

The AMA was hosted by founder of Astar Degen, VD. Starylay Finance co founder, Neo, was invited discuss their recently released lending protocol on Astar Network.

QUESTION 1: *What tokens will you have for lending or borrowing ?*

Currently, we support ASTR, USDC, USDT, WETH, WBTC, WSDN

We'd like to add currencies from now on, but because of the DIA situation, we have to be limited right now. The possible currencies that we're gonna add next are BUSD, DAI

QUESTION 2: *Will $LAY tokens be deflationary, and what will be the privileges of $LAY token hodlers?*
Great question!

$LAY is not deflationary at the moment. It has a fixed amount of 1B. But we might burn it through the community voting held in the future.

QUESTION 3: *Can you please provide details on tokenomics?*

We're allocating 65% of the token to the community, including Liquidity Mining and IDO distribution

We'll announce the details of the IDO, please stay tune!

Also, the investors and team members are vested: 6 months cliff and 18 months vesting period

Great. Let me clarify for the benefit of the community. The proposed DAO investment in Starlay will be vested for 6 months, as well.

QUESTION 4: *And, this would be at a lower price point per token than the IDO price?* Sorry, if I am a pushing you a bit, but we want the community to make informed decision on the proposal.

**NEO**:

Right, I'm not sure how the price will be, but I believe the price of $LAY would be $0.1 at the timing of being public, that is a reasonable price considering the estimated TVL in the near future.

**VD**:

Great thanks for answering the tricky question. At this point I want to clarify to the community that the proposal is to invest 100K USDT in Starlay from the DAO funds, as per STARLAY team preference.

So Neo, before I open up the questions for fellow degens, I wanted to expand on the utility of the LAY token.

QUESTION 6: *Will LAY token holders have a say in the governance of STARLAY similar to other protocols like CURVE and AAVE?*

Yes, it will!

We're developing the features of not only voting on decisions, but also getting more rewards by staking it.

We are not planning to whitelist in IDO. Everyone can participate in it equally!

QUESTION 9: *Are smart contracts forked from Aave or Compound, etc.? Have they been audited by a 3rd party?*

Starlay is forked from AAVE V2. Certik is auditing.

QUESTION 10: *What are the next milestones for Starlay? *

The focus is developing the features for $LAY token. Also, we're planning more original features that cannot be revealed. Stay tuned!

QUESTION 11: *Does the Starlay DAO have a safety pool incase of incident?*

Yes, it has. The Safety Module system based on AAVE will work for Starlay as well, after the token generation.

It depends on the situation… The more people borrow a token, the higher the interest rate of the pool would be.

* *Tricky NFT*, who takes care of the developer part of the project. Tricky NFT and his team are the first RMRK 2 developers and found a lot of workarounds that matched our ideas, even when the tech wasn't fully ready yet.
* *Yung Beef*, who is advising us in our journey he is the Community Manager of Subsocial
* *Escanor1907 and I* are taking care of the community and helped shape the ideas/story and were the first to believe in Akins's vision.

Tricky NFT is a team of developers who are one of the first devs to explore the limits of RMRK 2.0. Most of the team members are located in Berlin, Germany.

And, with RMRK soon moving over to Moonriver EVM the building will continue to grow.
