DonnieVerse Insanity

Time to time, I wanna write about chill topics, unconventional projects with unusual approaches.

At the end, crypto and web3.0 is far from being optimized, right.

We need more experimental projects that go outside of conventional narratives, try out new things that might not work.

Disclaimer: For this thread, I’ll be mentioning one of two projects on that approach, but before you expect something else, I have to warn that this thread might smell sh*t.

There is one Polkadot project which runs faster and breaking sh*t than anyone else in a year.

Hard to define this project as one name; but, for this time I will go with “DonnieVerse”. Everything started a year ago when Donnie among with Kyilkhor released Moonsama NFT collection for 1 $movr each. Floor price is right now $7500 movr, btw.

I would say, It’s a polarizing project for many because of proceeding the project in uncommon ways comparing any other project. No roadmap, no whitepaper, no announcements. Sounds like a red flag, right?

Even though, building all these chaotic structures, Donnie actually seems to play the game in a GrandMaster level, applying “out of box” strategies.

When you look from wider picture, you can see all the turning points converging into something.

There is a sweet spot between Web 2.0 & Web 3.0 infrastructures, and he targets there where many forget about it or fail to link to. We can also see his understanding of the crypto market and people by looking his management of the degen psychology.

Back to the beginning.

Things got spicy when the holders started playing Moonsama Minecraft and mining resources from the game.

Interestingly majority of the players has chosen to craft in-game items as NFTs from these resources instead of only selling and profiting.

This leaded into a sustainable system and prevented the game economics from turning into any other P2E ponzi schemes.

Instead, they use the term “play to craft” which deserves its own thread to talk about. But, simply, we experience this motivation with our traditional games.

After that, not to be an introvert community, they invited several DotSama communities by giving game passes and also introducing VIP tickets for anyone to join into the weekly Minecraft carnage events.

What comes next, gave the first clue where all these could lead, a new game “Pondsama” was introduced.

Utilizing the resources and crafted items from Minecraft, to be usable & composable with this new web browser game.

What do we have in this game?

> Fish.

What they provide?

> $Poop.

So, back to the sh*t part now, that I mentioned at first.

What is this $POOP ?

A governance token of one of the biggest NFT marketplace on Polkadot. It is deployed as xc-20 token on Moonbeam Parachain and reached to 28$ million market cap quickly.

That’s the reason why you see Poop all across Polkadot recently.

Again back to DonnieVerse. They’ve launched Raresama NFT marketplace, focuses on 1:1 art pieces, on Moonbeam.

Same day, a new NFT collection “Gromlins” on moonbeam airdropped to Moonsama holders and Exo pre-minters.

Their current value covers the cost of Exosama premints.

What is Gromlins?

Noone exactly knows yet.

We might see them in their own game “Super Gromlin Kart”, but their utility is TBA.

If you want to hear some speculations, check on my previous thread.

Finally, main show event happened. As a multi-chain project, Exosama just released on OpenSea, currently hitting 1.6K $Eth volume; aiming to bring in Ethereum community to experience the composable NFT 2.0s on Polkadot which will be adaptable to whole Donnieverse games.

Upon all these, they introduced a common Metaverse hub where you can cross message from Discord and Telegram.

Moonsama, Exosama, Gromlins, Minecraft carnage, Pondsama, Battle of nova, Rug of Duty and maybe more?!

And what all these converging into? An ecosystem, right?

So recently, they’ve announced that they’re building their own gaming parachain.

While building this parachain, they firstly consider launching a L2 EVM chain on Polkadot which might be the first blockchain to be governed by NFTs & gas fees by $POOP s.

All of these technical developments, get power from their CTO Kyilkhor “Adam Nagy” , ex head of blockchain at Energy Web.

Grats to him for managing all these things, I’ve mentioned above and good luck for what comes next.

What this layer2 approach brings into the table?

I don’t think Donnie wants to deploy, build and deliver all his life constantly.

It’s also unsustainable in very long term.

I can see the intention of allowing game developers, people to come, innovate, build their own projects, and write their own stories on this ecosystem while being composable with all the elements inside and the support of the community.

Time will tell the outcomes, but this one is an interesting one to pay attention and observe. Fs, a lot more fun than any others. What do they say in the heart of Kusama Network?

Run fast, break sh*t.

Or, maybe this one is better.

Move fast, expect chaos and embrace it.

If anyone wanna check more, I recommend looking into P-Ninja‘s video on Kusamarian.

I myself, even used it as a help for the roadmap of this thread.

Obviously it is a chaos:)

Next time, as 2nd project, I might be talking about GM Kusama Parachain.

A project which came out from a thread as a joke & evolved into a parachain. It’s the memechain of Dotsama, or might be more?

Then, I’ll continue very very serious! topics again, don’t worry;)

Coming from a background of Computer Science and Cinematography, I've found my niche in this space, blending technical know-how with storytelling.

Much as films tell stories, blockchains craft their own narratives, complete with innovation, culture, believers and emotions.

In this space, I connect the dots, bridging the gap between technology and story, making it relatable for everyone.

As a filmmaker in real life with a background in computer science, here I am, primarily conducting research in this wild wild space.

Often agnostic in my interests and inquiries, I regularly delve into cross-research, exploring both past and future narratives, trends, and developments in the broader blockchain space.

And in this particular space, I try to connect the dots, bridging the gap between technology and story, making it relatable and digestable for all.
