Prepare For Launch: An Update On The Spacers NFT Mint

Hello again Spacers! We know it has been quiet the last few months, and we appreciate your patience and understanding.

While most of the preparations for the Spacers mint are complete, the main delay at the moment is due to the RMRK team’s EIPs not yet being approved. However, they expect them to be finalized into ERCs by April 18th at the latest. Waiting on these is absolutely a requirement for minting on Moonbeam (as the RMRK team will stop supporting Kusama soon), but it sounds like the wait is almost over.

The EVM version of the Singular marketplace is already in the QA phase, and we will be testing the Spacers mint on Moonbase Alpha shortly. The contracts for the mint are already done, along with many of the required scripts, but a few more are still needed, for things such as the semi-random distribution of items, and the additional Spacer Squad patches. Additionally, we need to pin all of the images and corresponding metadata to IPFS in order to start the testing phase.

According to Steven from the RMRK team, “the hardest part is over.” Now, we are mainly waiting on the approval of the RMRK EIPs before the final testing stages and the mint.

As a side note, we plan to implement the DAOist CDK from the InvArch team in the future. The CDK is still in development, but once released will be utilized to transform the SpacerDAO into a true on-chain organization, complete with governance and a treasury.

We are still committed to delivering an awesome collection, and we are very excited to share The Spacers with you. Hopefully this update has provided some transparency on where the project stands at the moment. Please join the SpacerDAO Discord server to stay tuned for an announcement about the date of the mint, as all 10,000 Spacer Pods will open to unveil the full glory of The Spacer Fleet!
