  • Anonymous parathread ID 2092 has won the most recent parachain lease auction.
  • The number of daily new accounts on Polkadot has surged by nearly 10 times in the past 2 weeks alone, while active accounts have increased 4 times.

🔴 🏛 Governance

  • Referendum 80, proposing to grant sufficiency to USDT on Statemint, has passed. Sufficiency means that this asset can be used to pay for transaction fees and act as the ED for an account.
  • Referendum 81, to on-board Collectives as a common-good parachain, has been passed and executed.
  • Referendum 84, proposing to upgrade the Polkadot Relay Chain to runtime v9300, has been passed and executed.
  • Referendum 85, proposing to update the Kapex parachain runtime code to allow it to upgrade, is currently passing unanimously with 23 days left to vote.
  • Referendum 86, proposing slightly higher nomination limits, is currently passing unanimously with 25 days left to vote.
  • Motion 295, proposing to establish a social contract between Polkassembly and Polkadot, was passed and executed.
  • Motion 296 by OpenZeppelin, to cover the review and audit the current design of Ink! smart contract language together with Substrate’s smart contracts pallet, is under consideration.
  • The W3F Grants Program has added a referral program open to anyone having previously worked on a grant or a Polkadot Ambassador.
  • There is a post up for discussion proposing to fund DotLeap, a weekly newsletter that offers updates on the Polkadot and Kusama ecosystem.

  • Referendum 242, opening an HRMP channel between Statemine and Kintsugi, has passed.
  • Referendum 243, proposing to extend Encointer’s common-good parachain lease slot another 48 weeks, has passed.
  • Referendum 244, proposing to upgrade the Kusama relay chain runtime to v9320, is currently passing. This runtime would bring OpenGov (aka Gov v2 or Gov2) to Kusama. This Referendum has been fast-tracked by the Technical Committee. If passed, it will activate 400 blocks (~ 40 minutes) afterward.
  • Referendum 245, proposing to un-brick the Basilisk parachain, passed and was executed.
  • Referendum 246, proposing to swap parachain ID 2024 to 2226 for Genshiro, is currently passing.
  • Referendum 248, aiming to open an HRMP channel between Picasso and Statemine, .
  • Motion 578, to fund the production of Polkadot ecosystem tutorial videos for Hindi audience, failed to pass.
  • Motion 579, to fund the first milestone of KAGOME—Polkadot Host written in C++ and developed by Soramitsu—passed Council vote. The proposal should be up for vote by the community soon.
  • Motion 580, seeking to further increase the number of collators on Statemine from 8 to 12, has passed Council vote. This follows after the passing of Motion 577.
